Your Intended HairstyleYour chosen hairstyle will determine the placement and/or arrangement of your headpiece and veil. Therefore, it is best to decide on the way you want to style your hair for your wedding before you choose your headpiece. |
Short HairSmall tiaras, crowns or delicate headbands are excellent choices for the bride with short hair, because they require less pinning. Here it is best to try to avoid a veil that is weighed down with a lot of beading, lace or other trims. Due to the fact that your hair is loose and cannot be tied back, this limits the strength of hold within you hair. Depending on the length of your hair, discuss your options with your hairstylist, as they may be able to make small twists in your hair for the veil to comb into. |
Long HairWorn Out - Long hair can be worn out either straight, curled or waved. Circular shapes such as garland and circlet work best for this hairstyle, because they need the least amount of support to stay on the head.Worn Up – Consult your hairstylist for hairstyles that will tie in with your wedding gown, theme and face shape. If your veil is attached to your headpiece, your hairstyle should work around this. If your veil is attached to a comb, it should always be placed in the hair with the teeth facing down for a secure hold. You can attach your comb below your hairstyle, at the base of your head, or in front of your hairstyle. Your headpiece may sit directly in front of your veil, or you may like to have your hairstyle separating them. Take your headpiece and veil with you to your hair trial. This way you can make sure that your hairstyles unites well with your special pieces, and looks beautiful from all angles. Here you can also test the security of the placement within your hair. If you do find any slight problems, you can talk about this with your hairdresser and make any improvements. Eg. You may find that your headpiece or hairstyle needs to sit a little higher or lower on your head. |
